Habitat
Established woodland, but is absent from many woodlands even where the
foodplant is abundant.
Foodplant
Mainly birch, hazel, beech and oak, also found on alder, hawthorn,
blackthorn.
Lifestage data
Overwinters as a pupa which is spun amongst the leaves of the
foodplant. Larva mid May-July. |
